Sophia Andlinger – All the Things I Should Be

Sophia Andlinger’s new single, **“All the Things I Should Be,”** explores the tension between believing that we should embrace our own stories and struggling to come to terms with them, comparing ourselves to others, and longing for a different life.

Life experiences that gradually fill the once-blank page can feel limiting and burdensome. At the same time, they are experiences that strengthen the narrator and make them increasingly courageous, while, despite all the weight they carry, their curiosity about life never fades.

Like the other songs on Sophia Andlinger’s debut album, due out in November, this track is also rooted in recurring dreams — specifically, dreams of journeys that lead to the same destinations by the most diverse routes: an industrial city submerged in water, a quarry overgrown by jungle, a village encircled by a cycle path, or an imaginatively conceived underground station in Vienna.

All these places reflect experiences shaped by the tension between adventure and pain.
