Tikhet – Trouble Is a State of Mind
With the single “Trouble Is a State of Mind,” a small indietronica hit opens the new Tikhet cycle. For this, producer Sepalot and songwriter Angela Aux have invited Malva, one of the most exciting young voices from the south of Germany, into the studio. The 23-year-old indie songwriter shines over the epic instrumental, somewhere between early Feist and later Morcheeba.
The timeless Tikhet sound continues to emerge from skillful interweaving: 90s drums, a 70s bassline, and a timeless indie hook, expanded with the sonic worlds of bedroom production.
Lyrically and musically, the trio delivers fitting Gorillaz vibes for the coming spring, balancing between apocalypse and the hope that from now on, things can only get better.
Following the small indie hit “Visions” (a feature on the last Sepalot album with Malva), Tikhet and Malva collaborate on several tracks on the upcoming album: their cleverly balanced path between melancholy and euphoria becomes a dreamy off-space dancefloor. Good move.
