FARCE – Deeply Strange People

“Deeply Strange People” opens The Label with FARCE at her sharpest: funny, uncomfortable, hyper-observant, and emotionally direct. Inspired by The Real Housewives of New York City – specifically the strange, privileged ecosystem of Alex and Simon McCord’s family – the track uses reality TV as a lens to examine narcissism, social performance, and the bizarre little systems we inherit from the people who raise us.

What begins as a fascination with someone else’s detachment from the world quickly turns inward. FARCE reflects that same strangeness back onto herself and the listener, asking whether any of us are really separate from the family dynamics, social codes, and self-mythologies that shape us. Built around distorted guitars, high-voltage avant-pop production, and one of the album’s most direct hooks, “Deeply Strange People” is the perfect entry point into The Label: a song about wanting to escape where you come from, while realizing you might still be carrying the house inside you.
