Sam Tuesday – Look For My Traces

Sam Tuesday – the project of Berlin- and Svalbard-based artist Sandra Setzkorn, releases her debut album VILD on 23 October 2026. Lead single “Look for My Traces” is out now: a propulsive, 80s-inflected track that sets the tone for an album built around wildness, vulnerability and the edges of the world.

The title is borrowed from Danish and Norwegian, where vild simply means wild, not as a brand or an attitude, but as a state of being. Setzkorn lives that word literally: between Berlin and Longyearbyen on Spitsbergen, she works seasonally as an expedition guide, motorboat captain and polar bear guard in the Arctic, and as a guide in Antarctica.

She is the only female captain at her company. Those experiences, isolation on the open water, the scale of polar landscapes, the stillness of extreme cold, feed directly into her music.

“The dangers up here are real, that brings you back into the present and makes you feel alive. The sea always pulls me back. When I’m on the water my head goes quiet and I’m fully there, the same feeling as when I make music. There is something about old ice that goes beyond human history, it draws me in completely. VILD is about that: the distractions of a technologised world, the emptiness of consumption, and not knowing how much time you have left, to live, and above all to live in your own wildness.” — Sandra Setzkorn
