Pressyes – Blue Datsun

Two weeks before René aka Pressyes was born, his parents took a test drive in a blue Datsun. 

The car skidded off the road, flipped over three times, and landed upside down. Fortunately, both the mechanic driving the car and René’s parents walked away unharmed. But did this event leave a mark on René’s outlook on life?

Sometimes it takes a car crash for an artist to be born. Seeing the world upside down has its perks – you start caring less about everyday worries. 

That’s the essence of the new Pressyes single, “Blue Datsun”: a feel-good indie track about letting go and embracing life’s lighter side. It’s also a truce of sorts between Pressyes and the blue Datsun of his infancy.

“Pressyes usually sounds like Beck meeting the Beach Boys on the banks of the Rhine in Düsseldorf, reminiscing while slightly stoned” (ZEIT.DE). With “Blue Datsun”, Weezer joins the party.

Pressyes will release his third album, Sundrops!, on May 30, 2025,
