Portrait Of Tao – Back And Forth

Portrait of Tao is the indie-pop project of Fabian Holoubek, a musician and songwriter with over two decades of stage experience. As a bassist, he played alongside renowned Austrian artists such as OSKA, Sakura, Ina Regen, and Mathea.

“Back And Forth” is the first single from Portrait of Tao’s debut album, which will be released in the fall of 2024. The song is about the inner struggle between the excitement of new experiences and the comfort of the familiar. It’s about leaving and returning. Searching for home – as a feeling, not a place.

The multi-instrumentalist was significantly influenced by his parents and his three siblings, all of whom are musicians. Inspired by JJ Cale, the melancholy of Nick Drake, and the chill vibes of The Eels, Portrait of Tao creates a gentle indie soundscape with playfully dreamy melodies.
