Peter ZHirbs – Somewhere Else

Seven years after his acclaimed solo album debut — which earned him a remarkable comparison to David Bowie’s legendary “Low” from a US music critic — and following the release of his second full-length “Melancholia Beach” in 2024, multi-instrumentalist and electronic artist Peter Zirbs now unveils his new single “Somewhere Else”. The track marks a return to Zirbs’ own voice, after numerous collaborations with, among others, former Archive singer Craig Walker, Loretta Who, Tom Walkden and Rob Bolland.

“‘Somewhere Else’ circles that quiet urge to step outside the noise for a moment. Not necessarily to a place you can find on a map — sometimes it’s about escaping the storm within. After working with so many incredible vocalists over the years, it felt right, and strangely new, to take the mic again myself. The mood is intentionally vulnerable, wrapped in a sound that’s more danceable than what I usually gravitate toward. It’s a song about longing for gentler ground, and maybe finding it for a brief minute.” (Peter Zirbs)
