Oskar Haag – Lost Cause

“LOST CAUSE” is the fifth single released in advance of the album of the same name by the 20-year-old Austrian musician and actor Oskar Haag.

And, like the four songs before it—unsurprisingly—it’s a real gem of a song.

Once again, an absurdly good melody; the kind you’d have to try really hard to write, a stunning arrangement—big shout-out to Haag himself and his brilliant co-producer Lukas Klement—as well as compelling lyrics that seem to hold a lot of meaning for the young songwriter, all come together in perfect harmony with the dance.

And this dance, baby—perhaps the last one—is meant to be a waltz.  And that’s exactly what LOST CAUSE is.  This sweet intoxication in three-four time is nothing less than THE traditional dance of beautiful Vienna, the city where Haag has lived for more than three years.  And as a (self-proclaimed) Viennese musician, you not only have the right, but even the damn duty, to take on the waltz time and again—that peculiar musical style that swings wildly between exuberant euphoria and bottomless sadness…
