You Let Me Down’ is about not letting anyone get away with putdowns and it plays with the contrast of caring and revolt.
The song deals with the release of frustration, with being sick of a disrespectful treatment and wants to encourage women to be loud, say no and to be angry. 

It is about confidence and the handling of toxic behaviour. A behaviour we often attribute to powerful people, who tend to be manipulative and let you feel the imbalance of power between the two of you.
